FAQs

  • When should I arrive in Jakarta?

If you’re travelling from overseas, we recommend being there 2 - 3 days before if you can so you can recover from the jetlag before the big day.

  • Do I need to carry cash in Jakarta?

Most places do contactless or Debit/Credit Card. However, if you want to go to the markets or streetfood vendors, please do bring some cash with you. Don’t be shocked with the currency, we use ‘thousands’ here. 1 GBP = ~22k RP #economic-colonialism

  • Do I need to stay near the venue?

No, the venue is in South Jakarta and there are lots to do here but feel free to stay in Central if you want to be in the middle of the city (big skyscrappers, malls, etc). But please keep in mind that Jakarta traffic can be horrible during rush hour, so please avoid going anywhere far around these times to avoid being on the road for 2-3 hours.

  • What do I do in between the Nikah and Reception?

There’s a 3-4 hours gap in between the events to give us some time to prep and rest. If you stay in South Jakarta and you don’t need the rest, there’s a lot you can do and visit, we’ll send you some recommendations of places to go near the time.

  • Do I need to wear a Hijab?

No, you don’t need to wear a hijab at either the religious ceremony or reception.

  • Wedding gifts?

    Please don’t worry about gifts!

Honestly, we’re just happy you’re coming to Indo to celebrate with us!

If anything please just give to charity on our behalf insha’Allah.

  • Important Indo Custom You Should Know

When you enter a mall or a market, it is respectful to say hello and pay respect to the owner of the first stall/shop you see. This can be either a handshake or hug (indo’s are friendly!)
